This was an actual encounter in the wild with a black bear at Mendenhall Glacier, AK. Mama and cubs came down a hill to cross the path traveled by visitors to the glacier. The park rangers quickly provided a safe distance between visitors (who wanted pictures) and the mama and cubs. I photographed this with a 600 mm lens at a safe distance.
